This is basic rubber deformation. The O-ring has been crushed out of shape from being overtightened, tightened too many times, or left tightened for a long period without being replaced. Install a new O-ring each time and the seal will hold.

Fitment depends on the flange size. For example, a #24 (Red) cap will fit code 61, 62, or Cat of the same size, regardless of flange thickness.

Important: these are protective caps, not pressure plugs. They are not designed or tested to hold system pressure and should not be used in place of a pressure-rated fitting.
